Kenny Boy Escapes Justice

Ken "Kenny Boy" Lay was facing decades in prison for his part in the collapse of Enron. At his age, 64, that was basically a death sentence.

But the Great Leveler has apparently beaten prison to the punch, as Lay has reportedly died.

Reportedly
, I say.

How do we know Lay didn’t fake his own death? It wouldn’t be the first time a wealthy and/or notorious person has done so.

Lay’s certainly got both the money (despite claims of poverty, Lay was at a vacation home in Aspen, Colorado when he died) and the motivation to disappear.

Yup, I think Ken Lay is lounging out on a beach somewhere in the South Pacific with Elvis Presley, Jim Morrison, Andy Kaufman and L. Ron Hubbard.

nah, Club Med has too much activity for a guy like Elvis... unless straining on the throne is considered activity... he's probably making the other guys wrassle in their BVDs...

i don't think kenny boy would actually mix well with jim morrison, nor elvis. can see him hanging with ron though.

i heard the news of mr. lay's demise on cnn yesterday morning - but was rather surprised by the way the reporter treated the news - really treated lay quite nicely and spoke of his concern of his legacy - it was all just too nicey-nice. i mean, really - i have a hard time feeling sorry for a guy who stripped the retirements of how many little guys? i think it was around the time of the indictments that his wife complained to the press that her family wasw suffering too because they had to sell one of their homes and let go of a few maids. poor thing.

there's talk now of "vacating his conviction," which I don't agree with... no desire to add insult to fatal injury, but he did what he did... no reason not to keep that on record...

I agree bogs, do not vacate the convition.

It would only serve to say that it is OK to defraud.

We also saw the report over here. My immediate reaction was;"See. The reaper the great leveller."
Money, angst, wealth and all are useless in the end.

He will always be known as the man from Enron.
That is his and his families legacy. How pathetic is that!

Dawg, does ya mean the club med of hell?

croak - the man from Enron, indeed... he was immortalized in a documentary film called The Smartest Guys In The Room... however the court decides, he's gone down in history as a crook...

AB - Andy Kaufman's not in hell, he's in purgatory...
