Zarqawi Wowie: Webmasters Of Death

Al Qaeda leader al-Zarqawi appeared in a video posted on the Internet earlier this week, pledging his support for Osama bin Laden, mocking the US and threatening more attacks, yadda yadda yadda.

(I mean, how seriously can you take a guy who doesn't even know q is always followed by u?)

I guess it makes sense that terrorists would have their own Web sites, but it still seems so weird.

I’m trying to imagine the behind-the-scenes at their Web Central, and what it would be like to be a jihadist Webmaster.

Aziz: Hey, Ahmed, here’s that beheading video.

Ahmed: I’ll post it a little later. I’m defragging some of the network drives right now.

Aziz: Zarqawi said he wants it up ASAP.

Ahmed: You guys are breaking my balls here.

Do they have a bunch of tech guys running around with BlueTooth phones on their ears, who give the other guys crap about Web surfing and installing unauthorized programs? Talk about terrorists!

The real question, how do you fit a Starbucks into that operation?

Pete Bogs said...

Starbucks is on a jihad of its own, my friend...

Exactly! Put the two together!!! Well, that would be good for the "good guys" you see someone with bulky clothes, positively vibrating because of all the coffee and he's easy to identify as a terrorist.

So, if you drink Starbucks, the terrorists win?

i'm trying to deconstruct your post bogs...of course, not being a big fan of deconstructionism, i'm not having a good time at all.

but there is something curious about this post - the humor - belittling the terrorists - making them a joke - which lessens their importance, their impact - and also .. in a strange way, makes them seem less relevant, almost trivial - a matter-of-fact bi-product of life in the 21st century. and i'm not sure if that's a wise way to view them or not. dismissive - that's the word - and that seems like a fine thing - to be dismissive of terrorists...yet there is a danger in that attitude as well.

i'm not knockin' your post here my friend - actually enjoy your posts, but this one, so witty, has made me pause and think a little deeper. and after all - isn't that the point?

bird - yes, that is precisely the point of these posts, to think and discuss... I do take terrorists seriously... but once in a while I need to vent by writing about them in a satirical way... do you remember my "intercepting Iranian president's cell phone calls" blog or my "bin Laden offers truce, US offers middle finger" blog? those were the same thing... I can't be deadly serious day after day, even if my topic is...

I was thinking - for those of us that are about to move to the US (not that any of us are) and would like a brief summary of the politics there (not that any of us would) in order to feel a little better versed to have political discussions in the US - would you consider posting a brief summary of the Important Issues all Immigrants should be Immediately Aware Of? :)

Just a suggestion! Randomly ;)
