Is There A Cure For Male Pattern Stupidity?

"You know, I work on my hair a long time, and you hit it. He hits my hair."
– Tony Manero

Hey, Captain Comb-over, you’re not fooling anyone. And Mr. Toupee Shakur, neither are you.

Genetically predetermined male pattern baldness is something countless men face every day. It may not be the most desirable of “afflictions,” but it’s not an excuse to lose one’s dignity either.

We follically challenged men still have a lot to offer. Like pretty much everything other guys have to offer. We just spend a lot less time and money on the “’do.”

Personally, I like my head shaved. It's smoove as hell. And the womens can use it to fix they makeup.

You hirsute posers with your plugs and your rugs denigrate yourselves and the rest of us with your artifice.

Bald is beautiful. Embrace it, don’t disgrace it. Word!

Hmmm, when I read the title, I thought this would be a blog about George Bush...

Anyway, very good piece (pardon the pun). There are few things less attractive than a bad rug.

If my hair follicles decide to call it quits I am going to opt for a buzz cut. Comb-overs are ridiculous and fool no one.

pg - yeah, I have to take a break from Bushit once in a while... thx!

infini - um, aren't apes/monkeys typically hairy? or were you making a reference to our evolutionary ancestors? thanks, I think...

pres - yeah, I'm not completely bald... I've got that MPB ring around my head... I'd rather shave it all off than grow it longer... embrace it, don't disgrace it, as I said...

I'm one of those guys who is in the earliest stages of hair loss. So mmy theory, have fun with it while I still can.

So, though I'm working for the man, I'm still content to change colours (shocking blue, plum, pillarbox red, etc.) as often as I can.

It helps keep the boredom away as well.

changing colours like those is fine... you're not trying to fool anyone there... it's personal statement...

Hey bawgs, honey.

Bald is jes' fine--yul brenner look is right fine (ya'll know who that be?)

Anyway, this here's my idea on it all for gentlemen nd their laadies--natural is best. I prefer 100% real thang, not 300% fake something. World is fake enough--let's us be real!

Aunt B - Yul was The King! he was also a cautionary tale against smoking... I agree - let's keep it real...

I have noticed that as men age and if they keep their hair they seem kinda strange to me, you know, feminsed. Maybe it was because my Pa and dad were bald and so I like men who age with balding dignity. Full head of hair or the pretence of same seems almost vainity in the extreme.
Vive le difference... hence I like moustaches, beards and baldness.
Cheers bogs. You and your pate rock.

alison - thanks! I hear there's some flooding (and some tree poisonings?) in NSW... hope you're not affected!

Once it starts to go, bald is better. comb overs only make you look stupid so everybody listen to bogs.

Pete Bogs said...

I'm glad to see there's no male (or female) pattern stupidity among my posters so far!

Flooding just near us, but the waters are starting to recede ( pardon the pun). Tree poisoning always happens around us as we are on the seaboard and have sea views. Where I am we used to be able to have 200deg views but the trees have grown up. We don't mind. I am a tree-hugger from way back and I am not here to make money out of sea views. I am here to live until I die (I hope).

Isn't there something about the longer you live ,the more of you drops off? I seem to have lost about half of what I started with.Maybe I'm careless,or my mind is absent.

I bet money you go and look it up.

And when I come to think of it, if the principle behind bald is beautiful is that it allows people to be themselves and express themselves as they see fit, then why take the crap out of people who wear hairpieces?

Aren't they doing just the same - making a choice that suits them?

I have worn a hairpiece ( or rug as you seem to like to call it ) since I was 68 years old.

I am making a personal choice.
Am I not entitled to the same respect and sense of dignity as someone of the alternate persuasion?

Pete Bogs said...

ard - yep, I looked it up... but, of course, I've never been one to live my life by Biblical tenets... the Ten Commandments are pretty good, but kind of vague, too... anyway, I do not wish to be reskinned...

no one can take away the right to wear a rug (not my term, just a commonly used one) or anything like that, but I just get the impression a lot of men feel they are fooling the world, and they are not... but I feel the same way about padded bras (roughly equivalent to a hairpiece in men) and silicone implants (roughly analogues to hair plugs) in women... I'm just not crazy about the fake look, though I'm sure I'm a hypocrite in some manner about the issue...

you're over 68? I had you pegged for about 28, lad!

thankyou friend pete bogs for classifying me as one so young.

my photo of the bench in the forest says much of me. empty; alone; the last rays of sun leaving.

I am new to blogging but plan to quit soon - when I do I will show the next photo in the camera- one with me on the bench and all doubt will be resolved.
